The film is an upcoming supernatural fantasy drama and action-filled adventure film directed by Dominic Sena and shot on location in Austria, Hungary and Croatia. The story of Season of the Witch revolves on a 14th century Crusader named Behmen (Nicolas Cage) who returns home, accompanied by his most trusted comrade Felson (Ron Perlman), after decades of facing fierce battles on the East. Nearing home, they were surprised to see that their homeland looks deserted, not knowing that the whole Europe is already infected by the Black Plague. The church believes that a certain girl (Claire Foy) accused of being a witch and held prison in the Cardinal’s dungeon, is responsible for the said plague. The dying cardinal threatens Behmen and Felson to be imprisoned for neglect of duty unless they escort the girl in a remote abbey where monks will perform some ritual hoping that this will end the pestilence manifesting the land.
